Date of this avertisement is not known. It was discovered in a collection of Davison’s work, and reported in 1862 as dating from within the previous 50 years.
The Crown and Thistle appears to have existed as early as 1802. Andrew White was landlord from about 1812, and died in 1840. Have not seen any later records of the Crown and Thistle.
