Formed in 1969, the society was established to encourage interest in, and to advance the study of Northumberland, especially in the Alnwick area.
The society has seven meetings a year, running from September through to April. The meetings are held in The Bailiffgate Museum at 7.30pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month. There is no meeting in December and the AGM is held before the March meeting. New members are always welcome. Just turn up on the night, or get in touch with the secretary.
Membership is £10 for the year and non-members can attend individual meetings for £2 per meeting.
Twice a year the Society produces a journal entitled “The Bondgate”, which contains articles and research undertaken by the members. There are also regular book reviews.
We sometimes communicate with our members and other interested people by way of a newsletter. If you would like to subscribe to this newsletter, please complete the form below. You can unsubscribe at any time, and be assured, we will not inundate you.
